Himapro-SI always wants to makes our English Department become a famous major outside of our university. We prove it through an event that we held on 24th May 2014 inside our campus. “Talk Show with Raditya Dika with theme Creative Writing” was an event that planed by Journalistic Department Himapro-SI. The participant of that event was free for public who has card student or other identity. Alhamdulillah, our hard work of all committee for about one month gave a good result. We can got 519 participants just for about two weeks. Alif Fatqul Hikmah as the chief executive said that the purpose of this event was to increase our skill in writing, in order to grow up many young writers like Raditya Dika. “We know that Raditya Dika is multitalented man, not only in writing but also another skill like as an actor, director, and comedian. I hope he can inspire us from his experience”, added Alif.
The event began promptly at 12:00 a.m. but the participants have arrived for about three hour before the talk show began. It means that all of the participants were so enthusiasm followed this event. Two hour before Raditya Dika came, the audience presented many performance by community (EDC) of our major and some UKM such as Sabda theatre, Moesad band and Ishad of our faculty to make a merry condition.
Then, there was a man who wears a blue skirt appeared to the participant and made all of them cried out. Raditya Dika coming !!! Shortly, he gave us some tips how the step an easy writing. One of point of his tips was write when you were anxiety like when you were broken heart or many bad, sad or difficult things in your life. Because of that all of our insecure could expressed in writing. For about two hour he gave explained to the participant with his funny style like stand up comedian. He also ordered all participants to writing for about 15 minutes then chosen some participants who was brave to read their writing. Fortunately, some participants could take a picture with Raditya Dika after the interview season done.
From this event we could learn how the step to creative writing because not only become a writer but also all of our success life is beginning from writing.
