1. EFC
EFC stands for English Friendship Camp, it is one of EDSA’s annual events to welcome English Literature Department freshmen to the college, mainly in the English Literature Department. EFC has various activities throughout its agenda, freshman will receive a bunch of material from several speakers talking mainly about college issues. From how college life, especially in UINSA, untill how to survive and solve a college problems. This event also filled with numerous games gathering all of the freshmen to compete with their group mates facing another group to win. It can be a place for freshmen to get to know with their new friends before college life starts. EFC is also the place for freshmen to show their talent in front of their new friends. Freshmen give the performance of their exquisite talent on inauguration night, which will be one of the most memorable and exciting part of EFC. EDSA believes that throughout this event, freshmen may be helped to familiarize themselves with college things. On top of that, the goal of EFC is to become a bridge for freshmen to build strong relationships with their new friends
2. DN
Dies Natalis, or familiarly known as DN, is EDSA’s annual event to celebrate the English Literature Department anniversary. As the event to celebrate the anniversary of the English Literature Department, all of the English Literature Department members join and liven up the event. First and foremost, the lecturers are invited to take part in this event to celebrate together with all of their students. Dies Natalis has different concepts and themes each year, this also relates to the dress code audiences have to wear. All of the audiences are required to wear a costume that matches the dress code requirement, the more matches it is the more chance to win “The Best Costume” awards. The audiences will be invited to have such a blast with the games provided. Not only that, the audiences are also spoiled by a huge amount of performances from UKM (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa), student representatives from each class and also the performance from the guest star, influencing them to sing and sway all night long.
3. Compast
Comparative Study, or familiarly known as Compast, is EDSA’s event that is mainly managed by Networking Development as the embodiment of their work program. As its name stands for, Compast is an event where EDSA UINSA invites other EDSA from a different university as the participants to discuss and share about the issue in managing the organization. Not only discussing and sharing about daily issues in organization, Compast also facilitates the participants to compare the work program from another EDSA with EDSA UINSA, with the aim to look for the suitable work program that can be adapted in both parties. The main aim of Compast is to gain a lot of relationships which reflects from its agenda in conducting group discussion sessions and also several games that can gather all of the participants to merge into one unity. Compast can also be the medium of both EDSA’s members to show their talents to one and other throughout the performance sessions featured in the middle of this event, it is also the way to know more about each other and the community in each EDSA. Networking Development along with EDSA are optimistic that with the compast event can bring a new air with new ideas to both of the organization.
4. Scholarship Seminar and Expo
Scholarship Seminar and Expo is an event of EDSA that is managed by Networking Development. In this event, EDSA invites a keynote speaker mastered in scholarship. The keynote speaker will share their journey in getting scholarships as well as sharing plenty of insights useful for applying for scholarships. EDSA also works with several scholarship organizations to provide participants with first-hand information on how to apply, what documents are required, and the benefits of being awarded the scholarship. Besides that, participants will be teached and experienced in writing papers for scholarship applications throughout the workshop agenda. Not only that, all of the participants will receive a certificate that can be used for adding points in their SKEK’s.
5. Public Speaking Competition
Public Speaking Competition is EDSA’s one and only competition event managed by Human Resources Development as the embodiment of their work program. This competition is intended for senior high school students and college students who want to show and enhance their public speaking abilities. Students can show their best performance through storytelling performance, news anchor performance, and also speech performance. This event is also judged by several judges who are experienced in each field.
6. E-learning
E-learning is an online learning tool managed by Human Resource Development as the embodiment of their work program. E-Learning content contains explanations about linguistics, literature, and tips & tricks in general English. Packed with creative content and published on EDSA’s social media such as Youtube, Instagram, and Tiktok, with the aim that people other than the English Literature Department can access and gain knowledge from E-learning content. E-learning participants are all members of English literature, including students and lecturers.
7. Clinfinite
Clinfinite is an activity conducted by the Social Development Division in collaboration with the humanitarian organization, HIVE. This time, the activity involves a mangrove clean-up, with the goal of making a positive impact on the surrounding environment. Participants who took part in the Clinfinite event were partly EDSA members and partly members of the HIVE social organization. The Clinfinite event can be used as a means for students to be more concerned about the environment.
8. SIM-C Adventure
SIM-C Adventure is a learning and playing activity together with Sastra Inggris Mengajar-Cak students which is a work program of Social Development. SIM-C Adventure is also a farewell party for SIM-C students after 1 period of learning with EDSA executives. In this event, students will be invited to learn English through some fun group games, such as guessing animals and jobs. In addition, students are also invited to play games that require dexterity such as passing the sarong and also picking up the ball, which is useful for testing their cooperation. The event was also filled with gifts, snacks, and a photo session.
