THE GLOBAL LANGUAGE RANKINGS: RUSSIAN LEADS IN LEXEMES DIVERSITY, ENGLISH AND HEBREW FOLLOW SUIT

The Global Language Rankings: Russian Leads in Lexemes Diversity, English and Hebrew Follow Suit      Russian holds the record for the most lemexes in the world, surpassing even English! When we think about language, we often consider words and grammar, but there is more beneath the surface. The term "lexem" refers to the array of lexical expressions a language has everything from idioms and slang to cultural phrases that give depth and texture to communication. It’s surprising, but Russian takes the top spot globally for the most lemexes, with English following in second and Hebrew in third.  What is a Lexeme? Story Telling Competition: Indonesian Folklore


This was story telling competition's first chalenge held by HIMAPRO - SI that aims to celebrate of Adab and Humanities Faculty's Anniversary to 47. The competition was quite festive in which each class is required to send two delegates.

HIMAPRO – SI took the theme "Indonesian Folklore" in this competition. HIMAPRO - SI took that theme refers to the theme of the anniversary of the Adab and Humanities Faculty, with expectations every student of English Literature knowing about Indonesian folklore, not only to know and learn the stories of the West and forget Indonesian folklore.

During the competition, on December 2nd, 2013, registered 26 participants, but unfortunately that able to perform in this events only 16 participants. That is because most of them have lesson, it didn't disturb the story telling event, because the event took place with great performance.

There was a story that brought Malin Kundang who came from Sumatran region, not only that but also a story that brought the golden cucumbers (Timun Emas), and many more stories. Participants not only prepared the story, they also prepared costumes well, which aims to support their appearance and performances.

Judges came from the senior students of English Literature, such as Afan, Rika, and Noel. They were quite good in delivering their comments.

And in the end decided the winner is Gian Indah Setiowati (3rd Semester) as the first winner and Nur Aini (3rd Semester)as the second winner.(Novi) /H*
